David Marks was a founder member of The Beach Boys and played guitar on their first four albums, meaning that he played on hits like Surfin’ Safari, Surfin’ USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Catch A Wave and others all by the age of 15. He made music with bands like the Marksmen and The Moon after that, before reuniting with the Beach Boys for shows in the late 90s, as well as taking part in the 50th anniversary album and tour in 2012.

It came on the radio while we were driving around town after a football game.

Surfin’ Safari probably changed my life when it became a big hit.

Not as much anymore but it averages out to about an hour a day

In the car driving or in bed at night with the headphones

BB King at a nightclub in Boston in 1969
Approximately how big is your music collection? And in what format?
I have about 200 playlists on my iTunes that I listen to and the LPs are in the storage unit.

Music is a way for humans to communicate on an emotional level
