UK rock band Massive Wagons are launching their new album Welcome To The World this year and you can still Pledge for a copy here. We spoke to lead guitarist Adam Thistlethwaite about his favourite albums and the music that has inspired him.
This is his music…
What is your favourite song of all time?
AC/DC’s ‘You Shook Me All Night Long’. You cannot dislike that song, whatever you are into.
Can you remember when you fell in love with it?
Probably watching my Nana dance to it at a wedding. Like I said, it transcends boundaries. I think rock n’ roll music does in general.
Has a song or album ever changed your life?
Not one specifically, but hearing my dads classic rock vinyl as a kid made me pick up the guitar. The artwork, characters and music.. I loved it all.
If you could only listen to five albums for the rest of time, what would they be?
Obsession – UFO, Moving Pictures – Rush, Powerage – AC/DC, Laughing On Judgement Day – Thunder, American Saturday Night – Brad Paisley. Cover all bases!
How much of your day do you spend listening to music?
I’d think it’s at least an hour every day.
What’s your ideal time and place for listening to music?
On the way to a gig to get you fired up! Or whilst hoovering.
What’s the best gig/show you’ve ever been to?
Airbourne in 2008. Just relentless energy, we all came out battered and covered in beer.
Approximately how big is your music collection? And in what format?
Very big. Mainly CD’s but I’m trying new stuff on iTunes as the missus won’t let me get another CD shelf.
What does music mean to you?
Like a lot of people music is a huge part of my life, I can’t think of any negatives to it. The world is a better place because of it and there are not many things you can say that of.
What song should we all go and listen to right now to make our day better?
Massive Wagons new single – Tokyo. I hear it’s a belter! Handsome guys too…
